Parent and Teachers Association

Many hands make light work

The PTA is a very active group, which is involved in a number of fundraising schemes, and other activities, which directly benefit your children. We are a small team of parents and teachers, who meet once a month in the school staffroom.

  • Chairperson: Karl Weaver & Sam Paterson
  • Secretary: Kylie Johnston
  • Treasurer: Sonia Sampietro
  • Staff Rep: Kim Dalton

Kia ora Kaharoa families the PTA just want to take this opportunity to welcome any new families to the school and to remind you of the ways you can get involved in the school.

  • Parent help in classroom or resource room
  • Become a friend of the PTA
  • Join the PTA (we meet the 1st Wednesday of the month)
  • Volunteer at fundraising events
  • Pay the school donation
  • Join the Board of Trustees

We are a high decile school which means we get less money from the ministry than a lower decile school for resources that are needed in and outside of the classroom, we rely heavily on school donations and the funds raised from fundraising events to be able to provide things like playgrounds, environmental improvements, extra classroom resources etc. So your support with fundraising initiatives is really important. Ideas for fundraising that have been really well thought out are really welcomed and because we are a small team, we always love to have more people help to see these ideas become a reality. We have teams of PTA members and non-PTA members for every event we offer. We are a super friendly and welcoming team of people and it would be great to see even more social events happening throughout the year, we just need people to help run them. If you’d like to know more about how you can help please talk to any of the staff.
