Word From the Principal

A Word from our DP & Introducing Our New Staff for 2023…

Kia ora whānau, Goodness, the term is flying by! It is chock full of learning and activities in and out of the classrooms. Having the Scientist for a Day was a wonderful experience for the children and staff alike as we saw so many different displays and experiments that are part of the whole Science kaupapa.

One of our favourite school activities at this time of the year is our Athletics Day. This year we are looking forward to inviting all our whanau to support and cheer as the children display their prowess at the different events on offer. The children are all aiming to beat the current Kaharoa records in each event for each year group. Having whanau certainly adds to the atmosphere of the day and we missed this last year due to Covid restrictions. It would be great to see as many families as possible bringing a picnic and having time together at lunchtime. We look forward to seeing you!

You will have received the emailed news of finishing my Deputy Principal role at Kaharoa School at the end of the year. Thank you for the messages of farewell. I have enjoyed my teaching time at Kaharoa and more recently working with Lynden. I welcome our new Deputy Principals for 2023 and know that together with Lynden’s leadership and the wonderful staff, Kaharoa School will continue the tradition of strong teaching for your children.
