Operation Christmas Child

posted: Thu, August 01, 2019

Kaharoa School has been involved with this project for a number of years.

A lovely way for our kura and community to ‘pay it forward’. For those children in the islands and poverty-stricken countries receiving a ‘Christmas Shoebox’ may be the only gift they ever receive.

A shoebox can be filled for a boy or girl aged 2-14 years.

Ideas are:
- something to wear: cap, t-shirt etc
- something to love: teddy, soft toy etc
- something special: sunglasses, bangles etc
- something for school: coloured pencils, notebooks etc
- something to play with: marbles, yo-yos etc
- something for personal hygiene: facecloth, toothbrush etc
(Items that are not to be included are things that may leak, food or lollies, no 2nd hand toys, breakable items, play money or cards).

If you can’t fill an entire box, just one item is absolutely fine!
Boxes are available for $1 from school office OR you can use an A4 size shoebox and cover with wrapping paper.
Adding $10 will contribute to packing and postage.
Please return boxes to the school office by Wednesday 25 September.

There is also an option for online donations.

Thank you for your involvement!
