New Hamurana Bus route for Rotorua Boys High School

posted: Mon, September 07, 2020

To any parents whose son is going to Rotorua Boys High School next year - there will be a new Hamurana Bus service route available.

RBHS sent the following email out to parents/guardians of their students and asked that the information be made available to our Year 8 students also:

From Monday 7 September, the big blue Raukura School Bus will turn at Mourea as it travels from Te Puke, and travel directly to Hamurana making pickups along the way from approximately 8.00am in the morning. The bus will then continue through Ngongotaha and onto school arriving by 8.40am.

For the reminder of Term 3, this bus as we determine demand will be free to any students living in the Hamurana/Kaharoa area. Next term a bus pass for Hamurana/Kaharoa students will be $150 for the term - the equivalent of $3 per day for the return trip.

Afterschool the bus will leave school at 3.15pm on Mondays and Fridays. In terms 2 and 3 on Tues/Weds/Thurs as there are sports practices for some of the boys, it will leave at 4.30pm. Boys who do not have a sports practice will be able to attend the Homework Centre in the Library where afternoon tea and refreshments will be available.

There are spaces on this bus for between 10-15 Hamurana/Kaharoa students and first to pay for Term 4 secures a seat. Payments will be a term fee which means there are no discounts or reductions if there are family pick ups or sick days etc.

Please do not hesitate to make contact if you require further detail or wish to discuss this proposal further. Remember this service operates from Monday 7 September 2020!
