Kowhai’s Trip into the Kokako Bush

posted: Tue, March 02, 2021

Last Wednesday the little eco-warriors in Room Kowhai went bush.

We drove down to the Kokako Bush block and meandered down to the Onaia Stream where we had our morning tea.

We were on the lookout for kokako but unfortunately we didn’t see any. However we did see robins, fantails, cool fungi, interesting insects and some amazing trees.

Thanks to our wonderful parent helpers who assisted with transport and supervision.

Thanks to Tim Day, Annadel Delacruz, Jaimie Schwarz, Magdalene Paul, Ruth Hobart, Lilly-Rose Featherstone, Andrea Batchelor and Anna Burton.

Thanks to the generosity of the children we were able to donate $50 to the Kaharoa Kokako Trust.
