A letter from our Board Presiding Member

Kia ora Kaharoa School whānau, As we step into 2026, there’s a real sense of excitement and momentum around our kura. Time moves quickly, but what never changes is the strength, heart, and commitment of our Kaharoa School community. Whether you’re returning or joining us for the first time, we warmly welcome you to our whānau.

The past year saw some fantastic progress across the school, and we’re proud of the way our leadership team continues to foster a positive, supportive, and engaging environment for our tamariki. Building on this strong foundation, 2026 is all about continuing to grow — strengthening learning opportunities, supporting wellbeing, and ensuring every child is equipped to thrive and reach their full potential.

From a Board perspective, we continue to benefit from the use of SchoolDocs, which has streamlined how we manage policies, reviews, and compliance. This has allowed the Board to focus more meaningfully on what matters most: strategic direction, student achievement, and supporting the ongoing success of our school. We value whānau voice highly and encourage you to engage with this process — your feedback plays an important role in shaping the future of our kura.

One of Kaharoa School’s greatest strengths is its strong sense of community. We are incredibly fortunate to have whānau who are willing to get involved, lend a hand, and show up for our tamariki. Whether it’s supporting sports teams, being part of the PTA, helping on school trips, or attending events, every contribution — big or small — helps strengthen connections and enrich the school experience for everyone.

Strong partnerships between home and school sit at the heart of successful learning. When we work together, our tamariki flourish. If you ever have questions, concerns, or ideas, we encourage you to reach out to your child’s teacher or the school. Open, respectful communication is key, and your involvement is always welcomed.

Looking ahead, the Board remains committed to supporting Kaharoa School in providing a positive, inclusive, and enriching environment for all. We are excited about what 2026 holds and look forward to working alongside you as we continue to support our tamariki to grow, learn, and succeed.
